We close out 2013 with wishes for a wonderful holiday and prosperous 2014 to you all. This month we have several major announcements and great deals to share! Lots of treats this October! We begin by announcing the Mac version of ChronoSculpt software for correcting 3D cache animation and dyamic simulations from all professional 3D software programs. The Artist Spotlight is turned on Enrique Sandoval Castro who is making a career in visual effects with LightWave. The LightWave 3D Group President Rob Powers gets back to his roots as an artist in a "Shattering Effects" video tutorial using LightWave 11.6 and ChronoSculpt. Chris Jones continues making faces in his Human Project work, we find a great place on Vimeo where LightWave artists showcase their work, Jennifer Hachigian shows you how to ink in LightWave, Kelly "Kat Myers" shares how instancing was used in "Iron Sky," and more.

SIGGRAPH 2013 was a phenomenal success for the LightWave 3D Group as we surpised the industry with several new products: LightWave 11.6, NevronMotion plugin for LightWave 11.6 and ChronoSculpt. We begin with a gallery of images from the show that highlight the many amazing artists, speakers, attendees and technology in the booth this year. Next we tout ChronoSculpt's shiny new CGW Silver Edge Award for Best of Show at SIGGRAPH 2013, followed by a link to the new downloadable feature and tutorial filled LightWave 3D Magazine. Then it's on to plenty of hands-on demos and how-to video tutorials that highlight NevronMotion, Bullet Dynamics Body Horror, Spline Control, 3D Printing and RayCast Geometry in LightWave 11.6.

The LightWave 3D Group heads to Anaheim for SIGGRAPH 2013 (booth #303). This year, we will once again be streaming live during the show as we showcase top artists and studios who count of LightWave to create stunning visuals. We also have special show prices that run through the end of july 2013. New products will be unveiled, including ChronoSculpt a new standalone program from the LightWave 3D Group that supports all professional 3D software and introduces the concept of Time-Based Cache Sculpting in 3D. Next is LightWave 11.6 with many new enhancements for modeling and animation, support for 3D printing and much more. Also new at the show is NevronMotion for LightWave 11.6, which uses the Microsoft Kinect to capture and retarget mocap data to rigs in LightWave. Add in some incredible giveaways from companies like NVIDIA, Mushkin, Liberty3D, db&w and we have a great show in the making. And, check out the new LightWave Plugin Asset Database for LightWave that lets you search hundreds of free plugins.

SIGGRAPH 2013 is fast approaching as the LightWave 3D Group prepares to invade Anaheim July 23-25. This month, a popular Design Bundle promo between the LightWave 3D Group and Wtools, creators of LWCAD 4.5, winds down as the official end date of July 4, 2013 draws near. Heading into SIGGRAPH 2013, there will be plenty to see at the LightWave 3D booth #303 -- presentations and interviews with industry experts, new technology unveilings, and some pretty amazing giveaways that lucky audience participants have a chance to win--be sure to sign up for your free Exhibits pass. On July 16, 2013, join the DMALA user group for a special behind the scenes presentation of LightWave 11.5 for Syfy's hit "Defiance." Our Studio Spotlight this month focuses on Tainicom, a group of indie artists who rely on LightWave to create popular game apps. Japan-based SUNRISE, Inc. creators of stellar anime graphics has released a wealth of free LightWave plug-ins. Wrap it up with a call for CG character submissons forBallistic Publishing's popular EXOTIQUE art books.
